Halal at the company party: so everyone really eats

Anyone organising a company party knows these replies: "I eat vegetarian." Or: "I will eat at home beforehand, do not go to any trouble." What sounds polite often has a different reason. Many Muslim colleagues sidestep because they do not know whether the meat on the grill is halal. And since nobody wants a debate of principle at the summer party, they praise the salad instead.

Why many would rather avoid it than ask

The question about where the meat comes from is quickly asked but rarely comfortable. Whoever asks feels like a special case. Whoever does not know the answer ends up not eating at all. So at many parties a few people stand slightly apart with bread rolls and side dishes while the rest queue at the buffet. That gets noticed, even if nobody says anything.

For the mood in a team that is more than a detail. Eating together is the heart of any celebration. If part of the workforce only watches, the party misses exactly what it was meant for.

Planning a halal company party is easier than expected

The solution is uncomplicated: buy the meat for the party as halal from the start and you need no special arrangements. Halal slaughtered meat can be eaten by everyone. It does not taste different and does not look different, it is simply good meat. The difference lies in the slaughter and in clean separation from everything that is not halal.

All that matters is consistency. One grill, one selection of meat, no mixing with pork or non halal goods. Then you need no separate grill area and no second pair of tongs, and the organisation actually gets simpler rather than more complicated.

One buffet for everyone instead of special plates

The real gain shows on the evening itself. Nobody has to explain themselves, nobody gets a separate plate, nobody quietly asks what they are allowed to eat. Everyone helps themselves at the same buffet. For some it is a matter of course, for others it is a quiet gesture of respect that weighs more than any speech.

And the colleagues for whom halal is not a topic? In the best case they notice nothing at all. What matters to them is the quality on the plate, not the slaughter method behind it.

How ordering for the party works

At Reinweide slaughter happens only once an order is in. The sequence is fixed: orders close on Sunday at midnight, slaughter takes place on Tuesday, packing and dispatch on Wednesday, and the delivery reaches you fresh on Thursday. For a party on Friday or at the weekend you therefore simply order by the Sunday before.

As a guide, 250 to 350 grams of meat per person has proved workable, depending on how many side dishes there are. Calculate a little generously, because leftover meat freezes without any trouble.

The Reinweide shop carries meat and sausage from Austria, entirely halal and slaughtered only after your order. That way everyone eats at the next company party. Not out of politeness, but with an appetite.
